The Federazione Italiana Di American Football (FIDAF) was founded in 2002 and now has 84 teams playing in three divisions. A total of 11 teams in the IFL – Italian Football Leauge (First division), 25 compete in the LENAF – Lega Nazionale American Football (Second division) and 32 play in the CIF-9, 9-man football division (third division). 16 teams are completing the registration for 2014 season. FIDAF also organizes Flag Football Championships junior and senior, female championships tackle and flag football. The inaugural Youth championships start on 2006 and now there are 2 Championships, under 19 and under 16.

Quick Facts

Kicker Giorgio Tavecchio is a NFL Italian player. He was on the roster for the San Francisco 49ers in 2012 and Green Bay Packers in 2013.
John Mackovic, former head coach of Kansas City Chiefs and winner of IFAF World Championship in 2007 as head coach of USA, is head coach of the Italian National Team.
Every year in Trieste FIDAF organizes "American Bowl Camp" with NFL coaches and player. One of the guests in 2013 was Joe Montana.
