This weekend, administrators from SAJL, Finland’s National Federation for American Football, welcomed delegates from IFAF and competing nations to Helsinki, the host venue for the 2018 IFAF European Championship.
The working visit kicked-off with the Local Organising Committee outlining the plans for the event and concluded with venue tours and working groups where the tournament rules and regulations were discussed.
IFAF’s Marie Solhaug praised the delegates and the host nation: ‘I would like to thank Roope Noronen (President, SAJL) and his staff for their efforts this weekend. SAJL have put together a strong event plan and I am sure that this will mean a fabulous competition to showcase European football’.
Solhaug concluded ‘It was good to meet with representatives from the competing nations. There is clearly a wealth of knowledge amongst the management of the competing teams which means they will come well prepared – all of which will support great performances on the field.’
