In July 2016 nations from around the world congregated in Florida, United States, to contest the eighth edition of the Flag Football World Championship.

The Championship, first staged in Austria in 2002, sees nations compete in the 5 v 5 format of the game with a number of fixtures taking place over a few short, intense game days.

Panama are the reigning champions. Mexico hold the most titles with three. Canada hold two and both France and Sweden hold one a piece.
